In weite Ferne gerckt erscheint das gemeindepsychiatrische Ziel, auch Menschen mit chronisch rezidivierenden psychischen Erkrankungen zu befhigen, selbstbestimmt und normal im eigenen Lebensfeld zurechtzukommen. Im Bereich der Pflegeforschung ist die Situation psychisch kranker Menschen bislang relativ dethematisiert, in anderen Disziplinen wird sie wenig aktuell und drftig behandelt, obendrein zumeist ausschlielich unter standardisierten Kriterien zur Lebensqualitt. Mit Fokus auf die subjektive Sicht der Bewohner hat die Studie zum Ziel, die Einflsse bzw. Einschrnkungen, mit denen psychisch kranke Menschen in einem Wohnheim leben, sowie die Auswirkungen der institutionellen Lebensbedingungen auf die Persnlichkeit sowohl theoretisch als auch empirisch herauszuarbeiten und die pflegerischen Bedarfe und Bedrfnisse psychisch kranker Menschen in stationren Wohneinrichtungen zu identifizieren. Methoden: Die explorative Studie basiert auf fnf leitfadengesttzten Interviews mit psychisch kranken Bewohnern eines Wohnheims, die inhaltsanalytisch mittels Qualitativer Inhaltsanalyse nach Mayring ausgewertet wurden. Ergebnisse: Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass das Leben der Bewohner durch die Unterbringung in einem Wohnheim entscheidend geprgt wird. Die Institution als Ort pflegerischer Versorgung von psychisch kranken Menschen ist durch ein hohes Ma an Fremdbestimmung gekennzeichnet. In zahlreichen Bereichen unterliegt das Leben der Interviewten erheblichen Restriktionen.
