Greifen fr Joseph noch von Goethe geprgte Bildungs und Identittskonzepte des 18. und 19. Jahrhunderts, verkrpert Felix Krull die heiterschelmische Variante des im 20. Jahrhundert diagnostizierten Identittszerfalls. Ihre bei aller Unterschiedlichkeit innerlich verwandten Viten enthalten so auch ein utopisches Moment.
