La vicenda, narrata da Lermontov, dell'incontro tra il demone e Tamara si presta ad una lettura metaforica proprio a partire dal suo esito pi nefasto, la negazione dell'esistenza della giovane donna nel momento in cui un bacio viene a sancire il frutto dell'irresistibile attrazione. Se il demone, cui dato di sapere tutto, condannato alla indifferenza anche rispetto allo stesso male che pu infliggere e se Tamara incarna la complessit della vicenda umana, la storia di questo incontro impossibile pu alludere al rapporto tra la filosofia e gli ambiti di cui essa chiamata ad occuparsi. L'indagine, dunque, d forma e viene ad abitare il confine poroso tra etica ed estetica, laddove le forme della espressione possono diventare luogo stesso di manifestazione dell'altro.
