Die Arbeit befasst sich mit den zunehmenden, mehrdimensionalen Problematiken alternder Drogenabhngige und fragt nach Mglichkeiten und Grenzen fr die Soziale Arbeit. Diese Arbeit, soll aufzeigen, welche Bedrfnisse Drogenabhngige haben welche Ressourcen genutzt werden knnen, aber auch welche Angebote fr alternde Schtige vorhanden sind. Die Bedrfnisse werden anhand qualitativer Interviews mit alternden Drogenabhngigen sowie Fachleuten aus den Bereichen Medizin und Suchthilfe ermittelt und ausgewertet. Unter Bercksichtigung von Theorien soll aufgezeigt werden, wo die Soziale Arbeit mit dem neuen Phnomen alternder Drogenabhngiger Anstze fr eine gelingende Arbeit findet. Auf der Ebene der Sozialpolitik wird kritisch hinterfragt, weshalb dieses neue Problem noch nicht konkret bearbeitet und behandelt wurde und wo und weshalb Handlungsbedarf besteht. Abschliessend werden verschiedene Projekte vorstellt, die sich bereits intensiver mit der Problematik von alternden Drogenabhngigen befasst haben.
