Dieser offensichtlichen Ausgrenzung der Unehelichen wurde erst in der Gegenwart mit der Verabschiedung des Nichtehelichengesetzes vom 19.8.1969, das die Gleichstellung der unehelichen und ehelichen Kinder regelte, ein Ende gesetzt. Die Illegitimitt als Thema fand allerdings in der Geschichtsschreibung und in der Forschung lange Zeit wenig Beachtung, was zur Folge hatte, dass sie weitgehend ein unerforschtes Gebiet geblieben ist. In historischer Hinsicht ist sie jedoch ein weit gefchertes Thema und kann aus verschiedenen Perspektiven aufgerollt werden in ihrem theoretischrechtlichen Rahmen als Entwicklungsprozess in der Geschichte, aber auch als soziales Phnomen, das in allen gesellschaftlichen Schichten Verbreitung fand. Der Aspekt Illegitimitt innerhalb einer sozialen Gruppe knnte allerdings ein weiteres Thema fr die historische Untersuchung darstellen. Die vorliegende Hausarbeit beschftigt sich ausschlielich mit einer bestimmten Personengruppe, nmlich mit den illegitimen Frstenkindern in den europischen Dynastien der Frhen Neuzeit, wobei als Beispiel einer der unehelichen Shne Augusts des Starken, Moritz von Sachsen (16961750), dienen soll. Fr diesen Zweck wird zunchst das Wort Illegitimitt als Oberbegriff der Unehelichkeit erklrt und in ihrem Forschungsrahmen dargestellt. In einem nchsten Schritt werden die adligen Bastarde historisch und kulturell als Mischlingsfiguren' spezifiziert.
