Die dunklen Elemente der Sprache wirken aus der antiken Rhetorik uber die TroubadourDichtung bis zu John Donne auch in die bildende Kunst. Die nachtlichen Seiten des Menschen beruhren Hexenwahn, Hollenvisionen und apokalyptische Vorstellungen. Kunst und Wissenschaft haben bis heute das Interesse an der Nacht nicht verloren, was sich in zahlreichen Ausstellungen und Radiosendungen zum Thema aussert, aber auch in Musikstucken, Film, Theater und Buchtiteln. Plinius und Platon liegen mit der 'Dibutadislegende' und dem 'Hohlengleichnis' der Erkenntnis von Karl Philipp Moritz in seiner 'Gotterlehre' zu Grunde: 'Die Kunst kommt aus der Nacht'. Vom Ursprungsmythos, dessen feministischen Aspekten, uber den nachtlich schopferischen mannlichen KunstlerAussenseiter, der gleich den Idealen des romischen Kaisers und Dichters mit Nachtfleiss gegen den Schlaf kampft und im dunklen Studiolo oder Aktsaal der Akademien seinen Studien nachgeht, bis zu den nachtlich umtriebigen Menschen und der 'Nyktomachia' des Krieges wird methodisch auch ein Uberschreiten der Grenze zu Nachbardisziplinen angestrebt.
