La protine C active fait partie de ce nouvel arsenal, en rponse aux perturbations de la coagulation et de la fibrinolyse induite par le sepsis. La consommation excessive de cet anticoagulant naturel au cours du sepsis est corrle une augmentation de la mortalit. Partant de ces connaissances, la drotrcogine alfa (active) a t produite par gnie gntique. Ltude pivot PROWESS a permis de valider lefficacit et la tolrance de cette molcule, et par voie de consquence, dobtenir son AMM dans le sepsis svre associ deux dfaillances dorgane. Ce travail propose une tude rtrospective, castmoin, parmi un chantillon de 27 patients admis en choc septique au CHU de Caen dont 14 qui ont bnfici de ce traitement adjuvant. Quatre dcs taient constats J28 mais aucun syndrome hmorragique imputable la drotrcogine alfa ntait dplorer.
