Las estaciones de tratamiento de aguas residuales urbanas de las cercanas de Granada, fueron hechas en el intuito de minimizar la accin de los vertidos sobre sus cauces receptores. El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo hacer un acompaamiento y trazar una perspectiva del perfil de funcionamiento de las mismas, adems de un anlisis comparativo de su eficiencia, demostrando que pasado aos de funcionamiento, a pesar de que sean simples lechos de turba, tienen si un papel importante para la conservacin del medio ambiente. Para cumplir esa abordaje fueron incluidos anlisis qumicos, de cromatografa, testes de toxicidad y uso del mtodo IBMWP, adaptacin del mtodo ingles BMWP para la pennsula Ibrica.
