Este trabajo propone la simulacin de una hipottica dispersin de partculas de vapor de agua conteniendo bacterias propagadoras de cierta enfermedad mediante el programa RAMS de simulacin de procesos atmosfricos y su programa gemelo HYPACT de dispersin de partculas, con objeto de proporcionar una lnea de estudio al proyecto de investigacin multidisciplinar sobre el problema de los brotes de la enfermedad aparecidos en algunos cascos urbanos de la Comunidad Valenciana entre septiembre de 1999 y noviembre de 2004. Mediante la caracterizacin topogrfica y meteorolgica de la zona de estudio, se propone simular las trayectorias de las partculas de vapor de agua que pudieran contener la bacteria, bajo la hiptesis de su posible procedencia de las distintas torres de refrigeracin situadas en el casco urbano. De esta forma se pueden definir zonas de mayor afectacin y comparar su incidencia con los estudios de los casos reales, obteniendo as posibles fuentes originarias de dicha contaminacin sobre las cuales tomar medidas en prevencin de futuros casos.
