I laughed and cried as she shares her heart and feelings as she goes through this phase of her life. But as sad and heartbreaking as her story is, I found an amazing amount of encouragement and strength throughout her entire journey. I really encourage you to read In Sickness and In Health because it will uplift you, no matter what. Ms. Grissett's story was truly a blessing for me to read!About the AuthorI am a Baltimore, Maryland native who has worked in the educational arena for the past twentysix years. I was employed as a Financial Aid Counselor for eighteen years in the private and state college settings. Since 2005, I have worked for the Public Schools of Robeson County (North Carolina) where I currently serve as the Career and Technical Education Coordinator. Growing up, I have always loved to write, but had never thought to write a book. I was lead to publish a book after being diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, a cancer of the bone marrow/plasma cells. Keeping a journal was very therapeutic for me during my treatment process, while trying to cope with other lifealtering situations all at the same time. My goal in publishing this book was to share my experiences in hope of helping and encouraging others who may be in the same or similar situation.I am a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church and the illustrious Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. I serve on several professional organizations to include National Education Association, North Carolina Association of Educators, Robeson Association of Educators, North Carolina Association of Career and Technical Education and the Association of Career and Technical Education. I reside in Lumberton, North Carolina with my husband and two sons.
