The second book in the Why I Write series provides generous insight into the creative process of the awardwinning Norwegian novelist Karl Ove KnausgaardWhy I Write may prove to be the most difficult question Karl Ove Knausgaard has struggled to answer yet it is central to the project of one of the most influential writers working today. To write, for the Norwegian artist, is to resist easy thinking and preconceived notions that inhibit awareness of our lives. Knausgaard writes to erode [his] own notions about the world. . . . It is one thing to know something, another to write about it. The key to enhanced living is the ability to hit upon something inadvertently, to regard it from a position of defenselessness and unknowing. A deeply personal meditation, Inadvertent is a cogent and accessible guide to the creative process of one of our most prolific and ingenious artists.

I picked up 'Why I Write' by Inadvertent and it’s been a fascinating journey into the mind of the author. The reflections are deep and really got me thinking about my own writing process. Although a bit dense in some parts, it’s definitely not your average writing book!

Interesting but Could Be Better
This book had some intriguing insights, but I felt like it could use more practical writing tips. I bought it to help with my own writing, but it leans more on the philosophical side. Still, it sparked some ideas for me!

Disappointed with the Content
I was really looking forward to 'Why I Write', but it didn’t meet my expectations. Some chapters felt repetitive and didn't add much value. I even found some sections hard to get through. Not what I was hoping for, unfortunately.
