In this book, Induction Motor (IM) efficiency and power factor improvement is proposed. Procedure of obtaining maximum efficiency point is demonstrated. When operating at slip of max. eff. the motor characteristics are compared with the motor conventional ones operating at rated voltage. It gives suitable operating voltage to drive motor at maximum efficiency for certain load torque. A general purpose voltage frequency pattern is investigated. Optimum efficiency operation at variable frequencies is presented with sample points. The required voltage relations at any frequency to drive the motor at optimum efficiency are deduced too. Load torque types operated at optimum efficiency are introduced also. Adaptive model of induction motor using neural networks is created. Two ANN sensorless units are displayed one for voltage reduction at motor max. eff. with base frequency; while second for voltage at any load torque value with frequency for motor optimum efficiency. Experimental part is illustrated to verify theoretical one with a complete testbed and finally ANN Experimental model depending on experimental data is adopted to be used in speed estimation.
