In der Folge einiger einschneidender wirtschaftlicher und politischer Ereignisse, insbesondere der beiden Rohlpreiskrisen von 1973/74 und 1979/80, setzte sich in den Industrieunternehmen eine strkere Beachtung des Produktionsfaktors Energie durch, was sich bislang jedoch nicht in einer entsprechend intensivierten wirtschaftswissenschaftlichen Forschungsttigkeit niedergeschlagen hat. Als Grundlage entscheidungsorientierter berlegungen wird nun in diesem Buch zunchst anhand empirischer Datenreihen aufgezeigt, da den Industrieunternehmen ein beachtlicher Handlungsspielraum fr energiewirtschaftliche Rationalisierungsmanahmen zur Verfgung steht, und da sie in der Vergangenheit auch bereits flexibel auf nderungen energiewirtschaftlicher Rahmenbedingungen reagiert haben. Diese Ergebnisse ermutigen dazu, die Fundierung einzelwirtschaftlicher Anpassungsmanahmen mit Hilfe entscheidungsorientierter quantitativer Anstze in Angriff zu nehmen. Hauptanliegen ist dabei, den gegenseitigen Abhngigkeiten industrieller Produktions und Energieplanung in Modellanalysen Rechnung zu tragen. Als Methodik dieser Untersuchungen wird vornehmlich die gemischtganzzahlige Programmierung herangezogen.
