This book, Insect Adipokinetic Neuropeptides, presents the results of bioassays and structure elucidation of adipokinetic neuropeptides from representatives of three insect orders, Orthoptera, Hemiptera and Coleoptera. Confirming the activity of the whole extract and the HPLC fractions using bioassays, similarity of the native peptide with the synthetic AKHs were tested by comparing the profiles on HPLC. The primary structures were studied using MALDITOFMS/MS. The results of the investigation may be helpful in tracing the phylogeny of the insect orders and also for developing new generation insecticides.
