Attualmente invece, per fortuna, opinione comune che la musica sia di tutti e che tutti debbano potervi accedere. Dunque essa viene vista non pi come prodotto artistico culturale eccezionale e riservato a pochi eletti, ma come parte integrante del mondo che sperimentiamo ogni giorno, e ci dimostrato anche dal fatto che la musica sta man mano occupando una posizione importante nell'ambito della programmazione scolastica. Di conseguenza cambiata anche la concezione della competenza musicale: una volta si considerava "predestinato alla carriera musicale" chi aveva l'orecchio assoluto e "musicalmente competente" chi, avendo appreso le regole della grammatica musicale, riusciva a leggere dei brani musicali, a cantarli e ad eseguirli su uno o pi strumenti. Oggi, invece, si considera musicalmente competente chi ha preso coscienza del mondo sonoro che lo circonda, sa orientarvisi ed in grado di operare delle riflessioni sui brani musicali. Gli spunti teorici e pratici riportati nei capitoli seguenti vogliono rappresentare proprio un invito a mettere in rilievo le diverse dimensioni della musica: logica, emotiva e motoria. E proprio perch la musica presenta queste molteplici dimensioni, l'insegnante chiamato ad essere creativo, preparato musicalmente e pedagogicamente, proponendo ai suoi allievi attivit interdisciplinari che siano occasione non solo di apprendimenti musicali, ma anche linguistici, logici, temporali, spaziali, motori, ecc. L'apprendimento musicale e strumentale, concepito in tale ottica, pu rappresentare pertanto un'occasione importante nella formazione e nell'educazione dei ragazzi di oggi, fornendo loro gli strumenti necessari
