Eric Sons geht aus handlungs und materialittstheoretischer Perspektive der Frage nach, wie Menschen und Dinge im Feld der Bildhauerei zusammenwirken und wie diese Art der Interaktivitt als relevantes Moment kultureller Bildung begrndet und gefasst werden kann. Als Ergebnis wird ein verallgemeinerungsfhiges, theoretisches Modell dingbezogener kultureller Bildung erarbeitet, das zudem praktischpdagogische Erkenntnisse enthlt. Dem Autor gelingt es, den Gegenstand Bildhauerei, anders als bislang berwiegend blich, nicht aus der Perspektive von sthetik, Phnomenologie und Kulturpdagogik zu betrachten, sondern gegenstandsbezogen und sozialtheoretisch zu fundieren. Dafr fertigt Eric Sons eine neue Lesart der pragmatistischen Arbeiten von George Herbert Mead an, die bahnbrechend ist.
