Die Tourismusbranche boomt und gehrt zu den am schnellsten wachsenden Branchen innerhalb Deutschlands. Technische Entwicklungen der letzten Jahrzehnte ermglichen es einer steigenden Anzahl von Menschen, sich innerhalb krzester Zeit Zugang zu fremden Lndern und deren Kulturen zu verschaffen. Damit verbunden sind neben weiterer positiver sowie negativer Effekte das Aufeinandertreffen verschiedener daraus erwachsender Charaktere. Dies stellt fr den Tourismus, und auch fr spezielle Sportangebote innerhalb der Tourismusbranche, eine groe Herausforderung dar, denn nur wenn die unterschiedlichen Interessen in hchstmglichen Ma befriedigt werden, ist eine langfristige und effektive Zusammenarbeit aller Beteiligten mglich. Dadurch kommt der Fhigkeit, im interkulturellen Umfeld positiv zu handeln, eine Schlsselrolle zu. Diese soll im Rahmen dieser Hausarbeit vorgestellt werden. Die Problematik der interkulturellen Kompetenz im Tourismus wird verdeutlicht am Beispiel meiner beruflichen Ttigkeit auf Sardinien (Italien). Whrend dieser Zeit entstanden aus kulturspezifischen Verhaltens und Denkweisen heraus Missverstndnisse und Probleme. Durch deren Bewltigung lernt man bekanntlich am besten und so wurde Sardinien zu einer meiner bislang wichtigsten Erfahrungen. Unter Einbeziehung eigener Erlebnisse sowie der Zuhilfenahme verschiedener Literatur wird zunchst der Begriff der interkulturellen Kompetenz erlutert. Darauf aufbauend soll herausgestellt werden, welche Konflikte im internationalen Umfeld auftreten knnen und wie diesen bestmglich vorgebeugt werden kann.
