Stich in Effiziente ErsatzteilLogistik 2000, S.67) und bildet mit bis zu 70% den grten Anteil am Servicegeschft eines Unternehmens (vgl. de Schmidt 2005, S.11). Dieses Servicegeschft bietet neben der physischen Ersatzteilversorgung weitere Dienstleistungen wie Inspektionen, technische Beratungen oder Telefonhotline an (vgl. Stich in Effiziente ErsatzteilLogistik 2000, S.67). Grundstzlich spricht man bei Ersatzteilen von Sekundrprodukten, die immer im Zusammenhang mit einem Primrprodukt betrachtet werden mssen. Dadurch ergeben sich einige Besonderheiten fr die Kundenbeziehung eines Herstellers. Durch den Ausfall eines Primrproduktes beim Kunden, geht dem Kauf von Ersatzteilen oft ein Negativerlebnis voraus. Dadurch ist es besonders wichtig den Kunden bei der Ersatzteilversorgung zufrieden zu stellen, da dieser sonst bei einem erneuten Kauf von einem Primrprodukt zu einem Konkurrenzprodukt wechseln knnte. Somit ergibt sich neben der Ersatzteilversorgung ein Wettbewerbsinstrument (vgl. Pfohl 2004, S.227ff).
