Im Urheberrecht steigt die Anzahl lnderbergreifender Sachverhalte infolge der zunehmenden internationalen Verflechtung von Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft. Die dem materiellen Urheberrecht vorgelagerte Frage der anwendbaren Rechtsordnung gewinnt infolgedessen stetig an Bedeutung. Diese Arbeit widmet sich dieser im Internationalen Urheberrecht zentralen Frage. Zuerst befasst sie sich mit dem traditionell angewendeten Schutzlandprinzip, das auf dem Territorialittsprinzip basiert, und zeigt auf, dass dieses heute insbesondere im Internetbereich zu groen systematischen und praktischen Schwierigkeiten fhrt. Sodann werden Alternativen errtert. Ausfhrlich wird dann der eigene Lsungsvorschlag gewrdigt, die Einfhrung des Universalittsprinzips und die Anknpfung an das Ursprungslandprinzip.
