Im Rckgriff auf das LabyrinthMythologem um Theseus, Minotaurus und Ddalus werden zunchst grundstzliche Bedeutungsebenen herausgearbeitet. Durch die ausfhrliche Verknpfung mit dem Absurdittsbegriff von Camus und Platons Hhlengleichnis wird der Weg fr eine intensive Analyse des LabyrinthMotivs in vier Erzhlungen Drrenmatts geebnet. Es wird u.a. verdeutlicht, inwiefern Drrenmatt das Labyrinth als zentrales Darstellungsmittel zur Beschreibung einer sinnverweigernden Welt einsetzt und den erkenntnistheoretischen Skeptizismus des Autors zum Ausdruck bringt. Tritt bei Drrenmatt das LabyrinthMotiv vor allem im Bereich des erzhlten Geschehens in Erscheinung in Form eines literarischen Raumes, dem sich der Protagonist ausgesetzt sieht und ihm machtlos gegenbersteht so wird anschlieend am Beispiel der Erzhlung Der Bau" von Kafka ausgiebig untersucht, wie das Labyrinthische auf der Ebene der narrativen Gestaltung verarbeitet wird. Ambivalenzen, Widersprche, Reflexivitt etc. charakterisieren das labyrinthische Erzhlen Kafkas, das den Bau nicht zuletzt auch als Allegorie auf den Schreibakt verstehen lsst und eine Sprachskepsis hervortreten lsst, die der Sprache ein nur ungengendes Potential zur Durchdringung von Wirklichkeit zuschreibt.
