Neben Begriffsdefinitionen, theoretischen Erklrungsmodellen der Suizidalitt und dem Aufzeigen von Risikogruppen wird Bezug auf aktuelle Suizidstatistiken genommen. Dabei wird deutlich, dass die Suizidraten mit zunehmendem Alter steigen. Prventionsstrategien mssen der Komplexitt und Multikausalitt der Suizidalitt gerecht werden. Die Suizidprvention, insbesondere Strategien fr die Gruppe alter Menschen, hat nur einen geringen Stellenwert im Gesundheitssystem. Eine Lcke, die es aufzuzeigen gilt.
