Hinter diesem Motto verbirgt sich seit nunmehr 50 Jahren die EU die Europische Union. Ein Staatenbund aus mittlerweile 27 europischen Lndern, dessen Ziel es ist, sich als Europer geeint fr Frieden und Wohlstand einzusetzen (Europa: Panorama). Im Zeitalter der Globalisierung, in dem sich nationale Grenzen immer mehr aufzulsen scheinen, gewinnen internationale Bndnisse zunehmend an Bedeutung. Auch die EU hat sich in den letzten Jahren immer weiter vergrert neue Mitgliedstaaten wurden aufgenommen, neue Kulturen eingegliedert. Die Erweiterung soll auch in den nchsten Jahren weitergehen, so dass Europa als Kontinent immer weiter zusammenwchst, denn Europa kann, erst wenn [es] zusammengewachsen ist, [...] seine Interessen in der Welt der Globalisierung angemessen vertreten" (Auswrtiges Amt: Erweiterung). Doch ist es wirklich eine groe Europische Union, die die Interessen ihrer europischen Brger am besten vertreten kann? Sind es wirklich die groen Organisationen, die am erfolgreichsten fr gemeinsame Interessen eintreten knnen? Gewinnt eine Gruppe wirklich mit zunehmender Gre an Durchsetzungskraft?
