He Was The First Scientist To Work On Radio And Microwave Propagation. He Was Also IndiaS First Scientific Researcher. He Is Considered The Father Of Radio Science. He Also Wrote Science Fiction And Is Considered The Father Of Bengali Science Fiction. He Made Remarkable Advances In Wireless Signal Transmission And Was The First To Use Semiconductors To Receive Radio Messages. However, Instead Of Commercially Exploiting His Discoveries, He Publicly Published Them So That Other Researchers Could Build On Them. He Subsequently Made Numerous Discoveries In Plant Biology. He Invented The Crescograph, A Device Used To Study The Response Of Plants To Various Stimuli. In This Way, He Demonstrated The Striking Similarity Between Plant And Animal Tissues. He Was Strongly Opposed To The Patent Process, And At The Urging Of Friends, He Applied For A Patent.
