About the Author Jrgen Drews, 1933 in Berlin geboren, studierte Medizin, habilitierte sich und wurde Professor fr Innere Medizin in Heidelberg und Molekulare Genetik in New Jersey, USA. Von 1970 bis 1998 leitete er die weltweite Forschung und Entwicklung groer international ttiger PharmaFirmen, zuletzt als Mitglied der Konzernleitung bei HoffmannLa Roche. Er ist heute freiberuflich ttig und lebt in der Nhe von Mnchen und in Naples, USA. 2004 erhielt er den Beckmann Preis der American Laboratory Association fr bedeutende Beitrge zur Arzneimittelforschung. Drews verffentlichte zahlreiche wissenschaftliche Artikel und ist Herausgeber und Autor vieler Fachbcher, z.B. In Quest of Tomorrow's Medicines (Springer, New York, 2000). Daneben publizierte er mehrere Romane, u.a. El Mundo oder die Leugnung der Vergnglichkeit (2003), Menschengedenken (2005), Der Spiegelmord im Mrderspiel (2006), Wie wir den Krieg gewannen (2007) sowie Erzhlungen und Gedichtbnde.
