L'ouvrage que voici rsulte d'une initiative du Dpartement de Littratures et Civilisations Africaines de l'Universit Marien Ngouabi de Brazzaville, qui, en avril 1990, consacra ses Deuximes Journes d'Etudes l'crivain Jean Malonga. Fautil rappeler qui est Jean Malonga ? Auteur de Coeur d'Aryenne (1953) et de La Lgende de M'Pfoumou Ma Mazono (1954), le romancierconteur vit le jour en 1907 et mourut en 1985. Reconnu unanimement comme le ' doyen ' des crivains congolais, il sut faire entendre une voix profonde et singulire, soutenue par un immense besoin d'enracinement, d'ouverture et marque du double sceau de l'oralit et de l'invention verbale. Cet ouvrage, qui a bnfici de la collaboration d'crivains et de chercheurs, se situe, avec bonheur, au point de convergence de plusieurs disciplines en vigueur dans le champ des tudes littraires et des sciences humaines. Il projette, grce la diversit des regards, une vive clart sur la pense, l'criture et la personnalit de Jean Malonga.
