Jens Quistgaard is a designers book, tightly focused on materials and construction details. This is apparent from the moment you pick it up. The New YorkerThe first authoritative monograph on the life and work of the celebrated DanishAmerican designer Jens Quistgaard an unsung hero of Danish Modern and Midcentury Modern designJens Quistgaard (19192008), considered one of the founders of Scandinavian Modern style, spent 30 years as chief designer at the American company Dansk Designs, resulting in more than 4,000 products. His design philosophy that utilitarian, everyday items should function harmoniously influenced his approach to everything from spoons and pans to crockery and pepper mills, and is as relevant today as it was half a century ago.Quistgaards work is represented at major museums in Europe and the USA, including Design Museum Denmark, MoMA, New York, and the British Museum, London, with many of his designs still in production to this day. With neverbeforeseen sketches, archival photography, case studies, ephemera, and an illustrated inventory of his designs, this book delves deep into Quistgaards life and work to reveal his critical contribution to design history.

I love the Jens Quistgaard design, but be careful with handling! It feels a bit fragile. I chipped mine slightly during unpacking, so take it easy. Still, it looks fantastic on my side table.

Damaged on Arrival
Unfortunately, my Jens Quistgaard sculpting designer arrived with a noticeable crack. The packaging didn’t seem sufficient to protect it. I’m really disappointed and now have to deal with returns.

Stylish but Misleading Description
I was really excited to get my Jens Quistgaard piece, but it looked slightly different than I expected. The finish has a different sheen than shown in the pictures. Still, it’s beautiful and fits well in my space.
