Taylor describes how to select the best land for a farm and design the best layout for paddocks, pastures, buildings, roads and lanes. He explains how to select the correct stallion for your mare, and how to get your mares in foal and keep them that way. Taylor also covers how to care for newborn foals, raise strong weanlings and correct yearlings, prep yearlings for the sales and have the horses reach their peak at sales time.

I was excited to dive into this guide, but it arrived in much worse condition than expected. The cover was damaged, and some pages were loose. The content is good, but be wary of the used condition if that matters to you.

A Wealth of Knowledge for Breeders
Joe Taylor's guide is packed with useful info about breeding racehorses. I bought it used, but it’s in decent condition for a secondhand book. The insights on lineage and training methods have helped improve my approach immensely.

Great for Beginners but Needs Updates
This guide has a lot of foundational knowledge for anyone looking to breed racehorses. I found some sections a bit outdated, especially regarding veterinary practices. Still, it’s a good start for newbies like me.

Fantastic Resource for Racehorse Enthusiasts
I absolutely love Joe Taylor's guide! It covers everything from breeding to raising racehorses, and I’ve learned so much. I found it used but it looks fine, and I’ve already started applying the tips in my own breeding program.

Helpful but Condition Matters
I got this book in used condition, and while the info is solid, the pages were a bit worn. It’s a great reference for breeding techniques, but I wish it had come in better shape. Just be cautious about the condition when buying.
