This book traces the efforts of John Gaw Meem, through his architectural career to preserve many of the buildings we consider historical landmarks in Santa Fe and other parts of New Mexico. A pioneer in the organization of the preservation movement, Meem also helped preserve structures such as San Esteban de Acoma mission, San Jose de Gracia mission at Las Trampas, and El Santuario de Chimayo, and designed Cristo Rey church and many others. Includes thirty b/w photographs.
