Freud argues that the jokework is intimately related to the dreamwork which he had analyzed in detail in his Interpretation of Dreams, and that jokes (like all forms of humor) attest to the fundamental orderliness of the human mind. While in this book Freud tells some good stories with his customary verve and economy, its point is wholly serious.

I was hoping for more modern takes on Freud's ideas, but this book is pretty much all original texts. It arrived in decent condition, but I thought the content would be more accessible. If you're not well-versed in Freud, you might struggle with it.
