Juventud desamparada fue planteado por su autor como una ayuda para que el educador pudiera reconocer en las manifestaciones sintom?icas (transgresiones, actos delictivos, etc?era) los motivos inconscientes de tales comportamientos y, de este modo, poder encontrar los medios para resolverlos y, con ellos, devolver al sujeto la conformidad social. Los temas que aborda son de absoluta actualidad al se?lar la ineficacia de las v?s represivas y moralizadoras en el tratamiento de las pulsiones, v?s que s?o agudizan la problem?ica subjetiva y el conflicto social. De hecho, Aichhorn recomienda que el analista se sit? en el lugar del yo ideal del joven, pues su desamparo remite a un sujeto que no ha contado con el cuidado y con la preocupaci? del Otro. Como se?la Freud en el pr?ogo, la aplicaci? del psicoan?isis al campo de la pedagog? social y trabajo social hace referencia a una educaci? psicoanal?ica, es decir, a una educaci? inspirada en los trabajos del psicoan?isis en un ?bito escolar o familiar para que, de esta manera, el educador pueda ser un sustituto eficaz para la juventud desamparada.
