Den AnstoB zu vorliegender Abhandlung gaben die Ergebnisse einer in den Jahren 19701972 yom Seminar fur Bank und Versicheru11gsbetriebslehre der Universitiit Hamburg durchgefiihrten Untersuchung zur Finanzplanung deutscher GroBunternehmen. Die empirisch angelegte Analyse konnte unter anderem die Hypothese belegen, daB die Praxis ihre langfristige Finanz planung auf bilanzielle KapitalstrukturgroBen ausrichtet, wenngleic. hierbei keineswegs nach den eben falls bilanziell formulierten klassischen Finanzie rungsregeln vorgegangen wird. Damit eroffnete sich dem Verfasser die Auf gabe, ein Erkliirungsmodell fur die bilanzorientierte Finanzplanung zu ent wicke In, das zwangsliiufig auBerhalb der in der Literatur vorherrschenden Grundkonzeptionen finanzwirtschaftlicher Modelltheorie liegt. Diese Arbeit wurde am oben genannten Seminar erstellt und von dessen Direktor, Prof. Dr. Otfried Fischer, gefordert und betreut. Ihm spreche ich an dieser Stelle meinen herzlichen Dank aus.
