Das Institut fr Altertumskunde der Universitt zu Kln besitzt eine Sammlung von 187 ptolemischen und 17 thematisch 'verwandten' Bronzemnzen. Diese Stcke reprsentieren 184 Typen, die Sammlung weist also kaum Dubletten auf. Viele Typen sind sehr selten, elf zum Teil sehr wichtige bisher unbekannt (Nr. 1, C (hinter 6), 47, 101, 119, 124, 127, 139, L (hinter 161), 176 und 180). In diesem Katalog sind die Mnzen chronologisch geordnet und durchnumeriert. Exemplare, die nicht eigentlich pharaonisches bzw. pto lemisches Geld waren, sind alphabetisch bezeichnet, von 'A' bis '0'. Mnzen mit Gegenstempeln sind wenn es sinnvoll erschien an die chronologische Stelle der Gegenstempelung eingeordnet, nicht an die Stelle der Prgung der Mnze. Jedes Exemplar ist mit Hilfe der Indices am Schluss dieses Kataloges leicht aufzufinden. Die Fotos habe ich erstellt; auch die Gestaltung stammt von mir. Fr die bernahme der Fotokosten sei der NordrheinWestflischen Akade mie der Wissenschaften gedankt. Im Prinzip wurde der Text (links) gegenber dem Bild (rechts) an geordnet (nur an drei Stellen lag es nahe, drei Textseiten zusammenzu fassen). Zusammengehrende Bilder, etwa im 'Kontext' einer Emission, wurden nach Mglichkeit auf einer einzigen Tafel montiert. Zustzlich zu den Fotos in Originalgrsse sind einige vergrsserte Abbildungen (ohne Nummer) auf jeweils derselben Tafel beigegeben.
