Die einhundert beschriebenen mittelalterlichen Handschriften entstammen vorwiegend dem 14. und 15. Jahrhundert. Hervorzuheben sind Texte aus dem dominikanischen Ordensstudium, wobei die Textsammlung des Georg, Bruder des beruhmteren Petrus Schwarz, herausragt. Sie enthalt in sieben spissa volumina uber 60 Texte zur Logik, der philosophia naturalis et speculativa aus dem Ordens und Universitatsstudium zu Leipzig, Bologna und Koln neben einer umfangreichen Predigtsammlung. Juristische Texte, vor allem aus der Kanonistik Italiens und wie sie im Umkreis der Wiener Universitat gelehrt wurde, beherrschen das Feld. Die Hauptmasse entstammt der Furstbischoflichen Hofbibliothek und der Bibliothek des Domkapitels Eichstatt, womit der Kreis der Vorbesitzer umschrieben ist, die fast ausnahmslos im Dienst des bischoflichen Geistlichen Gerichts in Eichstatt standen, wie Leonhard Pilhammer, Conrad von Seglau, Albrecht von Eyb. Codices aus des letzteren Vorbesitz setzen einen weiteren Schwerpunkt. Zu den Spitzenstucken gehort seine Florilegien und Mustersammlung Margarita poetica im Autograph, dennoch gilt es besonders den Juristen Albrecht in seinen ConsiliaSammlungen zu beachten. Eine Bilddokumentation auf DVD enthalt uber 500 Schriftproben bekannter und anonymer Hande; sie vermittelt einen Einblick in die vielfaltigen Erscheinungsformen handschriftlicher Produktion.
