D.E. Stevenson as always wrote a heart warming story about a young woman and her children which includes a stepson. Katherine is a devoted mother who does her best to keep a good attitude toward what ever may come their way since the death of her husband and the father of the children. An school acquaintance shows up and things start happening that Katherine doesn't like, she wonders if maybe this was not a good idea to renew the acquaintance. Simon the stepson is respectful of his stepmother and very much a gentleman with wisdom for his age. For there situations awaiting him that these attributes will be much needed. Very enjoyable.
