Das zunehmende Interesse an neuen bildgebenden Verfahren, insbesonde re an der KernspinTomographie, veranlate uns, am 20. November 1982 ein Symposium abzuhalten. Im Jahre 1972 begann in der Rntgendiagnostik eine neue ra. Man kann fast sagen, das Zeitalter der Rntgenologie ging in das Zeitalter der ComputerTomographie ber. Mglicherweise stehen wir heute wiederum am Beginn eines neuen Zeitalters: Das Zeitalter der radiologischen Diagnostik ohne Rntgenstrahlen. Es handelt sich bei der KernspinTomographie um eine vllig neue pa tientenbezogene Forschung, von der wir erst wenige Einzelheiten rich tig erklren knnen. Forschung und technische Entwicklung mssen also intensiv vorangetrieben werden. Dies bedeu et aber auch, da die we nigen Gerte, die aufgrund der angespannten finanziellen Situation in der Bundesrepublik in der nchsten Zeit angeschafft werden knnen, optimal eingesetzt werden mssen. Ein derartiges KernspinTomogra phieGert kann nicht ein e r Klinik zugeordnet werden, wie es zum Beispiel bei den ersten ComputerTomographieGerten des Schdels erfolgte. Dieses Gert sollte als neues bildgebendes Verfahren von der Radiologie, also von einem Fach mit grter Erfahrung in inter disziplinrer Zusammenarbeit, federfhrend und verantwortlich betrie ben werden. Voraussetzung dabei ist jedoch, da nicht nur eine opti male Kooperation mit den verschiedenen klinischen Disziplinen be steht, sondern und darauf kommt es besonders an auch mit anderen Institutionen, wie zum Beispiel Kernphysik, Physikalische Chemie, Biochemie, Molekularbiologie, Datenverarbeitung usw. Nur wenn eine intensive und optimale interdisziplinre Zusammenarbeit gewhrleistet ist, werden wir in Zukunft die Mglichkeiten der KernspinTomographie voll ausschpfen knnen.
