DaB dabei die Empirie der Kindersprachfor schung einerseits, ihre allgemeinen Konzepte und deren theoretische Hinter griinde andererseits im Mittelpunkt stehen, ergibt sich aus den praktischen Er fahrungen der Beitrager und Beitragerinnen ebenso wie aus den aktuellen Kontroversen der Disziplin. Die 'Dortmunder Gesellschaft fur Kindersprachforschung' bot den AnlaB und die Moglichkeit dafur, daB der DiskussionsprozeB, dessen Ergebnisse hier vorgelegt werden, auch 'live' und 'face to face' stattfinden konnte. Der auBere Rahmen, den die Gesellschaft der Freunde und Forderer der Universi tat Dortmund mit ihrem 'Gastehaus' zur Verfugung stellte, hat die Gesprache erleichtert und zu deren angenehmem Verlauf beigetragen. Ihr sei dafur auch an dieser Stelle gedankt. Ingeborg und Detlef Fickermann (Kamen/Erfurt) haben es tibernommen, das Manuskript in die vorliegende Form zu bringen.
