Dies knnte auch der Grund dafr sein, dass sich bei den ersten Inszenierungen die gewnschte komische Wirkung des Stckes nicht vollstndig einstellte. Mittlerweile wird es allerdings als eines der bedeutendsten Lustspiele innerhalb der deutschen Literaturgeschichte angesehen, was nicht zuletzt auch am immensen Gehalt der inhaltlichen Motive und Symbole liegen mag. In Kleists analytischem Drama verhandelt die Hauptperson Richter Adam als Vorsitzender des Dorfgerichtes in der Sache eines zu Bruch gegangenen Krugs, der aus dem Besitz der Marthe Rull stammt. Hierbei versucht Adam von Beginn an zu verbergen, dass er selbst der eigentliche Schuldige ist und fr die Tat zur Verantwortung gezogen werden msste. Basierend auf dieser Rahmenhandlung sollen im weiteren Verlauf der Arbeit die Elemente der Komik herausgearbeitet, sowie anhand von Textbeispielen erlutert und analysiert werden. Darber hinaus wird der biblisch philosophische Hintergrund des Lustspiels in Form von Richter Adams Sndenfall interpretiert. Doch zunchst einmal soll der Fokus auf einige Gedanken zum Komdienbegriff, des Weiteren auf dessen Abgrenzung zur Tragdie, sowie anschlieend auf die Eigenschaften und Formen von Komik gerichtet werden.
