Die vorliegende Studie wurde in doppelter Absicht begonnen. AnlaBlich der Bundestagswahl 1980 hatten wir einen ersten ex plorativen Versuch unternommen, den Zusammenhang von 'Lebens welt und Wahlentscheidung' zu erfassen und die Kanalisierungs effekte des Wahlkampfs aus der lebensweltlichen Binnenperspek tive des Wahlers zu beleuchten. Diese erste wie auch die vor liegende Studie wurde im Rahmen des universitaren Alltagsbe triebs mit Hilfe von Studenten und unter Anbindung an Lehrver anstaltungen durchgefuhrt. Wir standen deshalb vor dem Prob lem, ein im begrenzten Mittel und Zeitrahmen universitarer Kleinforschung sowohl handhabbares als auch fur un sere Zwecke ausreichend sensibles methodisches Instrumentarium zu entwik keln. Diesen ersten Versuch wollten wir nun auf ein theore tisch wie methodisch besser ausgearbeitetes Fundament stellen. Daher nimmt in der vorliegenden Studie die Auseinandersetzung mit dem 'lebensweltlichen' Defizit der Wahlforschung und die Entwicklung eines unserer Meinung nach geeigneteren theoreti schen Bezugsrahmens einen relativ breiten Raum ein, desglei chen auch die Diskussion unserer methodischen Vorgehensweise.
