1 Van Eimeren et al. (1987) beschriinken sich dem Gutachtenauftrag entsprechend auf Studien zu strahleninduzierten Malignomen (u.a. Leukamie, Brustkrebs, Lungenkrebs, Krebs der Verdauungsorgane). Der Zusammenhang zwischen radioaktiver Strahlung und genetischen Wirkungen ebenso wie die Wirkung nicht ionisierender Strahlungsarten (z.B. elektrische und magnetische Felder, Mikrowellenstrahlung) wird ausgeklarnrnert. 2 Die von Stallen & Tomas (1988) in ihren Tabellen angegebenen Gruppen kontraste sind zwar zum Teil hochsignifIkant, bei den vorliegenden GraBen der Vergleichsgruppen (n> 100) verlieren solche Signifikanzen jedoch an Aus sagewert. Die Autoren versaumen es leider, MaBe fiir Effektstarken (z.B. auf geklarte Varianz, EtaKoeffizienten) anzugeben. Aus den angegebenen Mittelwerten und dem Wertebereich (Range) laBt sich vermuten, daB die Effekte ziernlich schwach sind. 3 Die Gegenliberstellung von "umweltbedingten Erkrankungen" und "natUrlichen" Erkrankungen ist freilich unscharf. Es gab schon immer "natlirliche" umweltbedingte Erkrankungen (z.B. Kropferkrankungen durch Schilddrlisen fehlfunktion in Gebieten mit geringem Jodgehalt in der Luft und der Nahrung). 1m klassischen epidemiologischen Grundmodell von Koch wird neben dem Individuum aIs Ort des Krankheitsgeschehens ("Wirt") und einem schadigenden Faktor ("Agens") "Dmwelt" als dritter wichtiger Bereich genannt. In diesem Sinne sind beinahe aIle Erkrankungen umwelt(mit)bedingt.
