Der vorliegenden Abhandlung wurde bei emem Preisaus schreiben des Elektrotechnischen Vereins zu Berlin der Preis, welchen die Verlags buchhandlung von J ulius Springer dem Vereine zur Verfgung gestellt hatte, einstimmig zuerkannt. Die in dem Ausschreiben geforderte einheitliche Betrachtung und Beurtheilung der verschiedenen Uebertragungssysteme bot mancherlei Schwierig keiten, besonders, da die einzelnen Systeme fast nur in Hinsicht des Zweckes bereinstimmen, sonst aber in ihrer Form und Wirkungsart weit auseinandergehen. In der Abhandlung ist der Versuch gemacht, die Systeme zunchst systematisch zu grup piren und dann die Vergleichung in allgemeinster Form auf Grundlage der Oekonomie durchzufhren.
