Filmische Fantasien zum Millenium, 7 Quellen im Literaturverzeichnis, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Bis heute gelten die Teile der Mad Max Trilogie als absolute Kultfilme und reihen sich damit ein zwischen Werken wie The Blues Brothers, Rocky Horror Picture Show und der Star Wars Trilogie. Bereits der erste Film des australischen Regisseurs George Miller erreichte in vielen Lndern sofort Kultstatus. Nur die USamerikanischen Verleihe wussten anfangs nicht so genau, wie sie den Film einordnen sollten. Deshalb synchronisierte man ihn kurzerhand mit den Stimmen bekannter amerikanischer Schauspieler. Erst nach dem enormen finanziellen Erfolg seiner Fortsetzung The Road Warrior fand auch der erste Mad MaxFilm sein Publikum in den Vereinigten Staaten. Vor allem der bis dato vllig unbekannte Schauspieler Mel Gibson, welcher fr seinen ersten Auftritt in Mad Max nur 15.000 US Dollar Gage bekam, hat diesen drei Filmen vermutlich seine Karriere bis hin zum heutigen Superstarstatus zu verdanken. Wie kommt es aber, dass eine LowBudgetProduktion wie Mad Max, deren Produktionskosten sich auf gerade mal 400.000 US Dollar beliefen, ganze 100 Millionen US Dollar Gewinn einspielen konnte? Bis ins Jahr 1998 stand dieses Ergebnis noch im GuinnessBuch der Rekorde als die beste Profitspanne, die ein Film je erzielt hat. Erst zwanzig Jahre nach seiner Verffentlichung wurde Mad Max 1999 von The Blair Witch Project abgelst. Bis heute fllen die Homepages der Fans unzhlige Seiten des Internets. Das Hauptinteresse gilt hierbei in besonderem Mae den Fahrzeugen, die, wie ich spter noch erlutern werde, vor allem in den ersten beiden Mad MaxFilmen eine wichtige Rolle spielen.
