Insbesondere durch die wirtschaftlichen, gesellschaftlichen und politischen Vernderungen zur Jahrtausendwende gewinnt der Standort an Bedeutung. Die vorliegende Arbeit geht auf die positiven Auswirkungen der Kulturereignisse mit berregionaler Reichweite in konomischer und imagebildender Hinsicht ein. Sie gliedert sich in einen theoretischen Teil und in die Untersuchung selbst. Ausgehend von den Vernderungen in der Wirtschaft wird auf die damit in Zusammenhang stehenden politischen und sozialen Vernderungen der Gesellschaft eingegangen. Der erste Teil besteht aus drei Abschnitten: Die wirtschaftlichen Vernderungen, die die Politik und das soziale Leben beeinflussen, werden skizziert, das Instrumentarium vorgestellt, das eingesetzt wird, um die Standorte in Zeiten der Globalisierung attraktiv und wettbewerbsfhig zu machen. Im Anschluss werden die sog. weichen Faktoren, die die Attraktivitt eines Standortes bestimmen, erlutert. Weiter wird der Begriff Kultur erlutert und dessen Bedeutung untersucht. Bremen, derer Bemhungen, die eigene Attraktivitt zu steigern, sowie der Versuch, das Image zu verbessern, werden anschlieend beschrieben. Dabei findet der kulturelle Aspekt eine besondere Bercksichtigung. Im zweiten empirischen Teil dieser Arbeit werden die Ergebnisse der Besucherbefragung zu der Sonderausstellung Der Blaue Reiter vorgestellt. Es wird beschrieben, wie die Ausstellung Der Blaue Reiter nach Bremen gekommen ist und welche Marketingmanahmen eingesetzt wurden, um mglichst viele Besucher nach Bremen zu ziehen.
