Bedeutsamer Weise nimmt der Kapitalismus dabei als fhrende Marktform einen besonderen Platz ein, wenn es darum geht, eine Antwort auf die Lebensfhrung moderner Gesellschaftlichen zu finden. Es muss gefragt werden, inwiefern kulturelle Lebensgrundlagen zur Etablierung kapitalistischer Grundzge beigetragen haben und ihre Entstehung bedingten. In rekursivem Zusammenhang damit scheint aber noch viel interessanter zu sein, welche Einflsse die kapitalistische Wirtschaftsweise auf die gegenwrtigen Lebensformen hat. In welcher Relation prgen die Grundzge eines weitgreifenden Kapitalismus die kulturellen Elemente einer sich darin bewegenden Gesellschaft? Welche Grade an zwangslufiger Prgung gegenber der Kultur muss der kapitalistischen Wirtschaftsweise zugestanden werden? Und an welchen Stellen kann von einer sich unabhngig ereignenden kulturellen Lebensgestaltung gesprochen werden? Verschiedene Soziologen der Gegenwart haben aus speziellen Positionen heraus sich diesem Fragenkomplex genhert und dabei breit gefcherte Sichtweisen auf die Risiken und Chancen der Moderne geliefert. Ziel der vorliegenden Hausarbeit wird deshalb sein Anthony Giddens und Richard Sennett in ihren Hauptthesen zur Moderne zu beleuchten. In Bezug auf ein Thema des Seminars, inwiefern der Kapitalismus die Kultur unserer heutigen Gesellschaft vorgibt und vereinnahmt, sollen dann ihre Aussagen unter interessierenden Gesichtspunkten vergleichend errtert werden.
