La presente investigacin se plantea, como objetivo general, analizar el antiplstico y otras variables tecnolgicas pertinentes a la materia prima cermica, a travs de tcnicas de anlisis cermico en la alfarera indgena tarda del Bajo Unare. Basndonos desde un punto de vista terico, en los desarrollos de la antropologa de la cultura material, la arqueologa del paisaje y la cadena operativa, realizamos tres tipos de anlisis: petrogrfico, cermico arqueolgico y microscopa electrnica. El resultado general de esta investigacin, permiti demostrar, que existe una gran uniformidad en los aspectos tecnolgicos identificados en todos los sitios arqueolgicos. Estas conclusiones permitieron crear nuevas hiptesis: por una parte, que todos lo sitios se ubiquen en un mismo perodo cronolgico y que se trate de vestigios culturales, de una sociedad unificada, con una unidad poltica cohesionada, donde la enseanza del arte de producir objetos a partir de la arcilla, se encontraba muy arraigada a patrones culturales preestablecidos que configuraban una eleccin de opciones y realizacin, transmitida a travs de sus sistemas sociales
