Un tout nouveau regard sur les maladies neurodgnratives pousse explorer le lien entre le rseau vasculaire crbral et le dveloppement de ces pathologies. La compliance, soit la capacit d'une artre prendre de l'expansion, est au coeur des mcanismes de rgulation sanguine. L'tude de la compliance est donc frquente sur les modles animaux, notamment chez les rats et souris. Jusqu' prsent la seule manire d'tudier la compliance sur ces animaux consiste retirer l'artre et faire une tude exvivo. Une mthode de mesure de la compliance invivo permettrait de reprsenter le comportement rel des artres. La tomographie par cohrence optique (OCT en anglais) est une mthode d'imagerie utilisant l'interfrence de la lumire. Elle a dj permis de prendre des images de la vasculature crbrale sur des petits animaux vivants et d'y mesurer le flux sanguin. Dans ce mmoire de maitrise, un dveloppement de la technologie de l'OCT dmontre sa capacit effectuer des mesures de la compliance vasculaire crbrale. Ces mesures sont effectues avec des animaux vivants sur des artres en fonction.
