Numerosas investigaciones realizadas han demostrado que los estudiantes universitarios presentan problemas, de distinta naturaleza, al momento de componer por escrito un texto. Se les solicita que escriban, pero pocas veces se les ofrece una metodologa para mejorar su desempeo. En atencin a esta realidad, el objetivo de la presente investigacin es explorar el uso de la planificacin, la textualizacin y la revisin como metodologa para la composicin escrita, en estudiantes del IPC. Se utiliz una investigacin de campo, de carcter exploratorio y descriptivo, en la que se trabajo con un total de 70 alumnos del IPC. Se realizaron tres experiencias de las que se desprenden la siguiente propuesta: separar la composicin escrita en tres momentos (la planificacin, la textualizacin y la revisin), asumiendo que constituyen fases recurrentes de un mismo proceso; adems, incrementar el uso de pautas compuestas por preguntas genricas que permitan orientar estratgicamente la escritura de un texto. Finalmente, se valora positivamente esta metodologa y se sugiere su implementacin en el mbito Universitario.
