Este trabajo consiste en la utilizacin de la Educacin Ambiental no formal como va para lograr la adaptabilidad de los pobladores de la comunidad de Dumauecos, en el municipio Manat, Cuba, ante la vulnerabilidad por la extrema sequa a que se ven sometidos. Ubicada a los 21 7 47 de latitud norte y a los 76 58 12 de longitud oeste, con una poblacin de 1692 habitantes. La comunidad de referencia, con importantes recursos econmicosociales, adems de poseer peculiaridades irrepetibles desde el punto de vista de sus paisajes naturales y de la gestin socioeconmica que all se desarrolla, fue la ms severamente afectada, tanto en extensin temporal, superficial como en intensidad. En este estudio se aporta el diagnstico de la situacin ambiental y un plan de accin. Adems se propone una metodologa para la implementacin de dichas acciones, as como un nuevo tipo de sequa.
