El tratamiento de los temas relacionados con el ser humano dentro de la geografa era inadecuado, pues se pretenda aplicar los mismos criterios que en las ciencias naturales, o se reproducan los mismos errores de las corrientes ideolgicas de donde provenan los tpicos humanos o sociales. En este libro se aprecian la variacin del objeto de estudio de la geografa a lo largo de su historia y la influencia de otras disciplinas e ideologas, desembocando en diversas geografas, que con sus inconvenientes y aportaciones jalonaron el camino de la geografa hasta su actual configuracin social.
