About the Author Luis Moreno Fernndez (Madrid, 1950), periodista, licenciado en Medios de Comunicacin y doctor en Ciencias Polticas y Sociologa por la Universidad de Edimburgo, es investigador del Instituto de Estudios Sociales Avanzados en el Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientficas (CSIC). Ha desarrollado su actividad investigadora y docente en varias universidades britnicas y norteamericanas. Sus publicaciones incluyen: Centro y periferia: La dimensin tnica de la sociedad espaola (1990, con S. Giner), Escocia, nacin y razn (1995) y Unin Europea y Estado del Bienestar (1997).
