En Mxico, durante los ltimos veinte aos, las instituciones de educacin superior han llevado a cabo reformas en los planes de estudio donde el objetivo ha sido elevar la calidad de la educacin y transparentar los recursos asignados a la educacin terciara; reforma que orienta el diseo curricular hacia el desarrollo de competencias para los profesionistas que son formados en instituciones de educacin superior con el propsito de incorporar a los egresados al mercado internacional, a la sociedad del conocimiento y a la tecnociencia. Por lo anterior, este estudio se orienta a la elaboracin de un anlisis comparativo sobre la situacin de la formacin humanista en universidades pblicas y privadas a fin de identificar la tendencia existente en la actualidad al respecto de la formacin de filsofos y profesionales de la lengua en Mxico. El trabajo se estructura en cinco captulos pero con dos apartados principales, el primero tiene el propsito de analizar la complejidad de las humanidades y sus cambios en la universidad, mientras que el segundo apartado aborda el estudio de la educacin en el marco de la globalizacin como fenmeno de influencia en la formacin humanista.
